The Benefits of Dermal Fillers

As we age, our bodies naturally lose hyaluronic acid, leading to visible signs of ageing. Fortunately, Dermal Filler Treatments can help by restoring hyaluronic acid. When injected, hyaluronic acid binds to water, rejuvenating, hydrating, softening, and volumizing the skin.

The right type of dermal filler, in the hands of a qualified aesthetic clinician, can give amazing results. We can re-sculpture your face to add some softness, volume, or structure, so you just look like yourself, but fresher. There are a number of filler treatments to address different needs and as each patient is an individual it really comes down to what will work best for you.

How does filler work?
Having been around since the 90s, Hyaluronic acid fillers work much in the same way as the body’s naturally produced hyaluronic acid by hydrating and plumping the skin as well as stimulating new collagen and elastin growth, helping to restore elasticity and firmness.

Worried about wrinkles?
Who isn’t? Over time and no matter how many anti-wrinkle creams and serums you use, wrinkles are simply a natural effect of age. Dermal fillers are a great way to diminish the visibility of wrinkles and fine lines by adding volume to the skin layers beneath, resulting in less pronounced wrinkles on the surface and restoring a more youthful appearance.

Restoring volume.
If you're experiencing sagging cheeks due to ageing or facial volume loss, dermal fillers can be a great solution. These fillers can restore the volume and definition of your cheeks, resulting in a younger-looking appearance.

If you are looking to enhance the fullness of your lips or reshape unevenly sized lips, dermal fillers can help do the trick. Lip fillers not only help in medical instances like correcting a gummy smile but also work wonders on adding symmetry and correcting thin or uneven lips or helping with lost volume. At REclinic we pride ourselves in delivering only natural-looking results which enhance and accentuate natural beauty.

Creating Symmetry.
If you have concerns about symmetry or asymmetry in certain areas of your face, dermal fillers can help contour them and achieve balance. Essentially a non-surgical facelift, the HA filler acts as a cushion which attracts water (up to 1000 times its own weight in water) and stimulates fibroblast cells to create collagen and elastin. As long as those small filler cushions are placed in strategic points they have a filling effect to create the desired contours.

A Glowing Result.
By adding hydration back into dehydrated skin layers, dermal fillers can brighten up dull complexions, resulting in a more radiant and glowing appearance overall.

Dermal fillers can also help to reduce the appearance of dark circles under the eyes. By adding volume underneath the area, it can help conceal shadows caused by sunken skin layers around this sensitive part of the face. The result is a quick and refreshing transformation.

DID YOU KNOW?
Whether you have scars from acne or surgery on your face, dermal fillers can be an effective solution for filling in any crevices and giving your skin a smoother texture, making the scars less noticeable and improving your appearance.

Are Dermal Fillers Safe?
Scarily, the medical regulations around the use of Dermal Fillers are not strict which means that anyone (without medical background) can administer them. For this reason, it is vitally important to choose a medically qualified practitioner who will be using high-quality, safe products and is able to deal with any complications arising. We only use Hyaluronic Acid fillers at REclinic which can be reversed with an antidote enzyme called Hyaluronidase. This makes the treatment very safe because we are able to break down the filler in a fairly short space of time should there be any reason to.

Is the Treatment Painful?
While the injections may cause a bit of discomfort, this only lasts a few seconds and there are many ways to minimise this discomfort too:

How long is the Down Time?
Due to the nature of Dermal Fillers, results are noticeable immediately following treatment, however, they can take a few days to settle into their optimal effect. Some swelling and bruising can be expected but the amount of swelling depends on the area treated – lips and under-eye area are particularly prone to swelling which can last for one to two weeks but can be controlled by taking antihistamines.

It is advisable not to schedule any important events straight after treatment. Optimal results can be seen from 3-4 weeks post-treatment.

A Personalised Experience.
Each dermal filler treatment is personalised to meet the unique goals of the individual. This ensures that you receive results that are specifically designed for you.

All the structures and tissues in our face - facial bones, fat pads and muscles which give our face its shape (the table) are shrinking while the skin (the tablecloth) stays the same and starts to sag. As long as we can replace the lost volume in those important points, we can give the skin its supporting scaffold back.

While these treatments can have dramatic effects, our aim at REclinic is always to enhance natural beauty, rather than to achieve harsh or unnatural results. Following a thorough consultation with our very own Dr Martina, we can work with you on a bespoke treatment plan to give you perfect results for you and your skin. Book a one-to-one consultation.
