Making medical aesthetic treatments COVID safe

What appointments will be like and how we are planning to open safely.

When a nationwide lockdown came into force on 23rd March, we all had to adapt to a new way of working and living. Queuing up for the supermarket, home schooling and turning the kitchen table into a makeshift office all became surprisingly normal, surprisingly quickly. However, one area of life that many of us have found unexpectedly challenging was how to keep up our chosen appearances without the help of a professional.

At REclinic we understand that this is not about mere appearances and that, for many of us, being unable to access those treatments we have come to rely upon has caused no small amount of stress. We hope that we won’t have to wait too much longer to re-open and are working hard to put in place stringent safety measures to ensure the clinic is COVID secure. So, just what should you expect from your next trip to REclinic for cosmetic treatments?

As REclinic operates within a specialist dental practice, located in Stratton Audley, just outside of Bicester Oxfordshire, we have implemented the same rigorous safety and infection control training and measures as the dental practice to ensure treatments are as safe as possible and the premises are COVID safe. Outlined below is the patient journey you can expect from initial consultation through to booking follow up appointments.

Online consultation
Initial consultations will be online and free

Initial consultation and pre-appointment checks

We are currently offering our initial consultations via video call. We have found this to be working really well as patients seem to be more relaxed in their own home to talk about their treatment goals and concerns. We are also offering these initial consultations for free whilst they run online (the usual charge for a face to face consultation is £50, redeemable against a booked treatment).

Following the consultation, we arrange appointment times and carry out the necessary consent and medical checks online or over the phone to minimise face to face contact and time spent at the clinic.

Appointment scheduling

We will be staggering appointment times to allow much longer between each appointment so that thorough cleaning can take place. For your peace of mind, we have also installed VirusKiller air purification units throughout the whole practice. These powerful units control airflow to optimise sterilisation and remove 99.9999% of all respiratory viruses and bacteria. Through this combination of stringent cleaning and the VirusKiller units we are confident we can make the clinic as COVID secure as possible.

Arriving for your appointment

REclinic is located in the quiet village of Stratton Audley, just outside of Bicester Oxfordshire. Our clinic is located in a luxurious, yet discreet setting. We ask that you come alone to your appointment if at all possible and recommend that you take a comfort break before arriving at the clinic.

On arrival at the clinic you will be asked to remain in your car and telephone reception to let them know you have arrived. At your allotted appointment time you will be invited into the clinic. We ask that you leave your coat and any personal belongings in the car.

We will be operating a temperature check policy for all patients and staff on entry into the clinic. We will also ask you to disinfect your hands and apply a face mask that we supply as you enter.

Your appointment

Dr Martina will be wearing full PPE, including a medical grade face mask and visor. When not performing your treatment Dr Martina will observe social distancing.

As ever, Dr Martina will be taking time and care to ensure all treatments are delivered safely and to the highest possible standard.

After your appointment

Following your treatment Dr Martina will escort you to the practice exit which is separate to the entrance to avoid patient cross-over.

You will be asked to dispose of your mask in a dedicated clinical waste bin and disinfect your hands before leaving the premises.

We ask that you return to your car and wait for a short moment when reception will call you to take payment over the phone and arrange any follow up appointments.

We are putting these strict new safety measures in place to protect our patients and staff during COVID-19. Safety is our number one priority and we have been carefully studying all available professional guidelines and will be implementing these in the clinic to the highest possible standard. We are confident that treatments can be performed safely and to our usual high standards.

Once we re-open it is likely to all seem a bit strange to begin with but you can be assured that you will still receive a five-star level of service in the luxury, state of the art surroundings that REclinic is synonymous with. We may be wearing PPE but our smiles will still be genuine and your welcome will be warm and friendly.
